P-51 gear sequencing valve question

Fri Apr 08, 2005 11:50 pm

I'm curious about this valve and it failure rate. I've never heard of this happening before, but it has happened to a friends P-51 twice. Both times the inner doors came down only half way then retracted again not allowing the mains to unlock and entend. Ever hear of this Vlado-Mike VBC?????

Two gear incidents come to mind (Bowlin & Segehtti). As I recall both were caused by hydraulic actuator problems not by the sequencing valve. (My memory could be wrong!)

Sounds like a rigging problem. The sequencing valve only does what it's told to do! The sequencing valve for the inner gear doors is a very simple valve and has nothing to do with the uplocks which are mechanical.
