Heads up!

Quinte 2005 Model Jet Rally will be held on June 11 - 12, 2005 at CFS Mountainview just 15 kms south of Bellville, Ontario on highway 62.

Public will be admitted after 9:00 a.m both days and the cost for spectators is $5.00 per person.

A great chance to watch radio controlled model jets buzz around and see where most of the aircraft from the Canadian Armed Forces are retired to before being sold off or scrapped.

Only happens once a year!

Regards,

Always a great show!

A few pictures that I took this morning.

Below is CT-133452 which was the last to retire. I hope she gets a good home!

I have a load of topsoil outside with my name on it! I will post some more to my webshots later.

Hi Mike,

I managed to get down to CFB MW on Saturday also...it was a hot one indeed...

I would have loved to get into a few of those hangars for a quick peek..still it was quite interesting especially checking the CF-5 frames...I noticed the S&R Buffalo in one...

I would luv to park one any of these airframes in my backyard...

I've been to a couple of Jet Rallys before. The "loving care" that goes into these things is every bit as much as any trophy-winning IPMS plastic model - with the added challenge that it has to fly!

When I lived in Shreveport, I used to paint the scale pilots for a friend of mine who built the large jets. That was fun as hell! :D
