What is the limit on manifold pressure with 100LL. Any difference in M.P. limits between big radials and V-12's?

Thanks,

With the R-3350 I limit takeoff power with 100LL to 45", however at Reno (5000' MSL) using 115/145 and ADI the Wright will pull about 58". Some of the Sea Furies with better ram induction systems can pull over 60".

The Merlins are a different story. Most stock Mustangs at Reno race at around 60", while the guys with racing engines can see manifold pressures in the 110"-130" range.

The two I know of are:
T-28 w/ 1820 is 48 inches as opposed to 52.5 inches b/c of 100LL and P-51 1650 merlin 55 inches as opposed to 61 inches.

The R-3350-93 in the Connie [C-121C] is limited to 52" vs 59.5" using 100LL.

Didn't know that 115/145 was available at Reno, although we'd heard of it being refined again in N'thn USA for P-2 firebombers.

G'day
