Gotta love the dump-n-burn, last time I saw it Iwas suprised how much heat you can feel on the ground.

Nice shot of my Avenger. It can go back to NZ, just send lots of Yankee $$$$$'s....no Pacific "pesos"...

Actually, the P-40 is an ex-NZ airframe as well.
Still, the movement of aircraft between countries is generally a healthy thing. Even though these airframes have left New Zealand, plenty more have come in to replace them. And more are on the way.
Chris Prevost's Nieuport 11 replica is coming to a New Zealand owner who already has a collection of WW1 replicas.
Plans are underway to bring a Bristol Bolingbroke IV to Blenheim for restoration to airworthy condition.
The Supermarine Walrus syndicate are working on bringing the ex-Melton aircraft to NZ.
There is a Hawker Harrier coming to Ashburton (though it won't be flying, unfortunately)
The Yak 3 that has just arrived.
Plus an assortment of Avro, BE2, Bristol Fighter, Curtiss Hawk etc to be restored and based in New Zealand.
And that doesn't cover the planes that are coming here for restoration and then leaving. Such as the Mosquito, OFMC Yak....
Then there are the aircraft that have been in NZ for some time and are being restored to airworthy condition; the Hawker Hind, 2 x P-40s, Spitfire...
I don't have a problem with the fact that these aircraft have left NZ shores. There are plenty more coming is to replace them, and I even accept that there is a remote possibility that I would get bored seeing the same planes at every airshow.

Whoa there Snoopy, I spoke in jest.
I too feel the cross pollination around the world of historic fleets a good thing.
Now we just have to convince HARS to bring their Connie to Wanaka next Easter.

If you read my earlier post, you will see that I would like all of the ex-NZ planes to come back. But if they did, where would they park?
It would be 'interesting' to see the Connie land at Wanaka. With a runway length of approx 1200 metres, is that long enough? Perhaps a C-130 type 'tactical approach' will be called for. Now I would pay money to see that! Imagine the view from the hill!

Since we operated "Connie" to/from 1331m at Illawarra Regional Airport to be at Avalon, what's another 100m? [R/W 16/34 is closed for renovation.] There are heaps of issues with a trans-Tasman operation, let alone any potential restrictions at Wanaka. In HARS we just jump the hurdles as they're raised!

MAN - you get all the fun down under!! I'd love to see a F-111 here but alas . . . I'm having a hard time convincing my better half that round trip tickets to down under are within the current budget.

I Just saw the Connie land on half the Runway at Bundaberg. The wrong half but still managed to pull up in time. None of us watching thought it would.
Hello Oscar Duck You going to be at Watts Bridge this August. I am looking for a new aircraft to photograph as soon as I tee up a Camera Ship. Will settle for your O-2 if your there.
Saw a Movie the other day with your Avenger in it. I think I still prefered the old version but the aircraft footage is much better in the remake.
You New Zealanders are awfully greedy. All them lovely Warbirds already over there and you still resent the ones you let go

Greetings>> I saw the movie again. Ten days of movie "la la land" for 5 seconds of glory....anyway Ms. Close was very nice and was scheduled to fly with me in the Avenger until the weather intervened.
We will have the 0-2 and 0-1 up at Watt's in August. See you there.

Melton's Walrus isn't coming as it has been sold to a U.K. Museum and the OFMC Yak will stay at Wanaka

Nice photography...the P-40 looks first rate and the Sea Fury has always been one of my personal favorites. I very much like that one's paint scheme.
