Just watched the link without a problem. Why did they leave the left engine running?

We must limit politicians to two terms:
one in office and one in jail.

My guess: They wanted the engine secured on the right so the crew could escape and/or they needed hydraulic power for the flight controls on landing so they left #1 running.

On all my Greyhound flights on and off the boat the brief on egress was out the rear ramp if able.

I can see keeping the engines running for landing, just wondered why they didn't shut down the left engine after the plane came to a stop. Either way, great landing by the crew.........
