warbirds in new Imax movie "Fighter Pilot"?

I really enjoyed the NASM's new Imax movie about the Red Flag
exercises out at Nellis AFB. Best Imax movie I've seen, yet.

There is one sequence where some Air Force pilots are shown walking around an indoor display with a Lancaster, a Spitfire, and an Me-109E. I don't think they have these in Nevada, and didn't see a location listed in the end credits.

Has anyone else seen it and do you know where they filmed this scene?

Could it have been Canada, and not a 109E? There's a '109F at the National Aviation Museum in Ottawa, along with a Lancaster and Spitfire. Although, of course, if the '109 had "clipped" wings and the Spitfire did not, then it's not there! :wink:

(Actually, according to the NAM website, they have THREE Spits, a IIb, IX and XVI.)

Yes, I must be misidentifying the Me 109 and that must be the place because there was an acknowledgement in the credits to Canada ("Film Board of Ottawa", maybe?). I didn't see a museum listed, though. Probably just missed it.

Strange that they would include the Canadian interlude and not explain it. Everything else (seemed) to be on location at Red Flag.

There were some Canadian aircrew in the exercise, too.

I may be a little biased, but the National Aeronautical Collection of Canada, which is mostly housed at the Canada Aviation Museum is indeed impressive. TheY have a wide range of airplanes from a Silver Dart (like a Wright Flyer) up to an F-18 with displays covering both military and non-military aviation developments over a time line. I would suggest you put it on your list of places to visit.

The Imax Movie system is a Candian invention,so it would be possible that post-production work could have been done in Canada, hence the use of one of the best aviation museums in the world.
