Does anyone any any info/photos of all of the Saab Drakens that have made irt here to the USA? This is an awesome web site by the way!!

I only know some of them went to USA from Finland and during a filming one movie where Skip Holm almost gets blown into oblivia a finnish " old Draken team " was there to fix the plane. Officially they were never there.

TF-35s with NTPS in USA, first AT-158/N168TP with the anti-spin tail and tufts taped to the wings used for superstall/spin training, second AT-157/N169TP with four low-drag Mk 82 practice bombs for an NTPS student training mission.
Third and fourth is AT-157/N169TP with a drop tank converted to a camera pod.

Those around Oshkosh will recognize the following Airliners photo of a black Draken that sat (is still sitting?) in the Basler parking lot at Wittman Airport. I'll sneak a peak for it the next time I'm over there.

According to the link 37 ( various sub-types ) came from Finland.

What are the legalities surrounding these as opposed to some of the other jet types we've discussed recently? Migs owners don't seem to be jumping through hoops like, say, the Collings Foundation with their F-4 or the A-4 owner discussed recently. Do the hard core regulations fall specifically on ex-US jets, with the foreign imports enjoying less restriction?

Nope Dan, she's gone. I was there this last Saturday, and no trace of her to be found, unless Basler has moved her inside somewhere. I think she's been gone for quite a while though...

That black one came here to CA a few years back. It was used in a Miller Genuine Draft Beer commercial and then sat there at Wittman for a while. It was registered as N543J. There are now four or five in a hangar at McClellan airport near Sacramento, and the one mentioned above at Reno is currently a flier. N35350 (same as it's c/n) is posted below.

Juke, I do not know what you are basing your claims on, but not one Finnish, or ex-Finnish Draken has ever been in USA, officially or not. As a matter of fact, I guess they have never ventured farther from home than Sweden.
All ex-Finnish AF Drakens are still in Finland, preserved in museums, as decoy aircraft, for fire practice or instructional airframes.
I guess most civilian Drakens in USA have come from Denmark.

I missread the info. In to Finland has been exported 37 Saab Drakens.

Nevertheless finns did repair the Skips kite in USA.
