Hello everyone! Its good to be back, I haven't been around due to computer problems. Anyway, this Sunday morning I was laying in bed and was surprised to here what I thought was an AT-6 buzzing around town. Then they made a second pass and took a look outside. It was a flight of 3 At-6's. My first thought is that they were probably Warbird Adventures planes. Chuck did you have anything to do with waking me up this morning? :D It looked like each time they made a pass they headed back over to Orlando Executive. Anyone know anything?

Hey, I have a correction to make. I talked to a friend of mine who saw the same flight. He said there were 5 total, he saw 2 of them peel off at one point. I guess that was around the time I went outside and saw the flight of 3. A funny little side note... he's not a plane guy. He said to me, "I saw some planes and thought they might be old warplanes, like maybe B-52's!" I got a good laugh out of it!

If you think about it though, the B-52 is well over 50 years old now, and was birthed just twelve years or so after the first P-51 Mustang! Seems odd, but it's pedigree is far closer to its WWII counterparts than it is to any other "modern" aircraft design flying with the USAF today.

Rob,
I agree the B-52 is a "old warplane". I was just amused by the fact that my friend was just throwing out the first designation that came to mind and that he would think an AT-6 was a B-52... maybe it wasn't as funny as I thought... :(

I thought it was funny! Over the years I have noticed that many people, who are not airplane people, think they know a lot about airplanes, but they really don't.

There was a small airshow at Orlando Executive this past weekend. We did not attend but I heard that the Aeroshell Team (T-6s) were there and that is probably who you heard and saw.
I heard a rumor that the Aeroshell Team is not going to be flying T-6s too much longer. Anyone else heard anything?

Years ago we had an airshow (Good Neighbor Day) here at PDK with participation by the then Confederate Air Force. Another Colonel & myself were answering questions about the different airplanes on display, when we were approached by a couple SMART A$S teenage boys that were asking dumbshlt questions & in generally making fun of the CAF. Finnally one of them asked what war our airplanes flew in & without hesitation the Colonel that I was with pointed under the tail of one of the planes where "Confederate Air Force" was painted, & said "The Civil War". Well I be dam-ned  they believed it & ---------we didn't tell em no different :finga: . Last I saw of them they were leading a couple honnies around giving expert background about the great air battles of The War Between The States. :D

It's rarely a bright idea to let one mistress know of the existence of the
other. 8) But of course..a warbird is hard to hide for long. Permanent
glazing of the eyes...odd hours..massive hole in the bank account...
concrete rash, which often mistaken for carpet burns..Oh Yeah buddy,
your goin' down.

'Fraid I didn't see that report Rick, I think I was living in Rob Mears 'hood
at the time...but I'm sure it was entertaining! Kind'a like the old Johnny
Carson, "putter stand up" incident. Priceless! I squirm in my chair at the
various ways the LtCol is paying for his on-camera indescretion..... :(

An F-4...that's not a mistress Sir, that's a Dominatrix! You know she'll
leave marks that you can't explain.

Aint that the truth, I have a scar that runs from the front of my head all the way to the back. I can still reach up and feel the groove. Ran into the VHF antenna during a launch last spring. Blood was going everywhere !
