What has become of this one? (the one they found the pilot in) Has it been sold yet? Under any restoration? Is the asking price to high? This would seem like a significant Warbird to restore to flying condition. Just wondering out loud. T.I.A.

Stored in the UK....as a complete 'time capsule' with original paint, best conserved and displayed as is, rather than have 90% of it replaced and flown in colours that don't represent it operationally IMHO.

Well not being able to see this one in person and just from the pic's I have seen, it looks as though U could still use over 90% for a flying restoration, granted some castings/mag. parts will need some replacing. And thanks for the update.

i feel leaving it as recovered offers an interesting perspective. it also makes the average person more aware of the mia troops of all nationalities that still are not resting at peace.

Yes, now that is a more valid approach to the subject.

We'll be in the UK next summer. (Flying Legends.) Is it viewable by the general public (if so, where) or hidden away in a hangar?

Mudge the interested

Do you mean where she's stored now?

Scroll down and see her bathing a bit here: (courtesy CWD site):

You cannot view it unless you get special permision, or are offering to purchase. I stand by my opinion the majority of the aircraft would have to be replaced to make it fly, I know both the people who recovered it and those that have inspected it.
