Thanks very much for the explanation.

Some of the Marine/Navy AD-5s were redesignated A-1Es in 1962, and later turned over to the South Vietnam Air Force, as was the case with 52-132670 and 52-133889 (photos shown earlier).

Any idea of the AF serial or Bu number of the aircraft being flown by Capt. McClellan at the time he was shot down?
