Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Mike, you might have more luck on the FP forum, there are a few Belgians that live there.

Hi,

There is another one located at Florennes AFB displaying at least a Spitfire XIV and a few F-84 (F, G, RF, ...). Located on the now civilian side of the airfield, so easily accessible.

How does 22 locations with vintage aircraft displayed or preserved sound?

The Koninklijk Legermuseum is the biggest, and in terms of variery and originality has to be one of the world's great collections.

Others worth a look -

Collection Eric Vormezeele (not public, but...) Brasschaat
Euro Space Centre, Libin
Musee Armerie du Centre, Haine St Pierre
Musee Colonel Aviateur R Lallement, Florennes
Musee de la Citadelle, Dinant ( One Meteor F-8)
Musee du 1 Wing, Beauvechain
Sabina Old Timer Foundation, Zaventem
Tipsy Flying Museum, Antwerpen (Not drunk, the manufacturer Tipsy)
Victory Memorial Museum, Messancy (C-47)
Vliegtuigverzameling Robert Landuyt, Bruges (Private, interesting)
Wings of War, Meerhout aeronautical trust (Fairey Battle parts)

A bit more searching with that data should throw up the details. My infgo's about 10 years old (Bob Ogden's Beenelux Museums of the World)

Going for a holiday? Don't forget Holland, France and Germany 'next door'. :D

Not really a holiday, I will just be passing through. However, if I have spare time, I would like to take advantage of it.

Hi Mike,

The Landuyt collection is winding down. Not much left there and never a real museum.

The Victory Museum has closed years ago. The C-47 first went to The Netherlands but was recently sold to Germany and burnt in the making of a film.

The Sabena Old Timers are not a museum and are not usually open to visitors.

The museum in Brussels on the other hand is a definite must.

Greetings,

Harm-Jan Strating

Thanks everyone! The brakes have been put on a trip immediately, but sometime this year is a likely possibility, so I will continue doing my homework. I will also work on a list for the Netherlands and Germany.
