I've been in Japan too long & my English has started to suffer.

What I meant to say was out of EACH of the following WWII types, which would be the one model/mark to die for.

Spitfire
Bf-109
FW-190
P-40
P-39

Also add to the list the Zero.

Also, can you guys be more specific why that particular version.

RareBare, why the Mk XIV Spit?

davem, why the P-40E as opposed to the P-40B?

Dan Johnson II, why a Mk XII over RareBare's Mk XIV?

Tulio, shame on you for bringing the "M" word into this!!

Thanks again, guys.

Mac

Well, the most numerous was the 'Q' model, but most
went to Russia through Lend-Lease.
A number of 'N' models were used (second most numerous
model produces) by the US, Portugal, Italy, Russia, and France.

I think the 'N' looks better than the 'Q' myself, but the 'Q'
is probably the difinitive version, and therefore would meet
your listed criteria.

For me, and 'D' or an 'L' would be the one I'd grab in a heartbeat.

Spitfire Mk. XIV Bubbletop ...it just looks cool, and Griffons have power

Bf 109K-14 ...best version of the Bf 109

Fw 190D-13 (or does Ta 153 count?) ...I've always loved Fw 190s...dunno why.

P-40Q ...'cause it's weird.

P-39Q ...I honestly have no clue

Last mk. of the Zero ...it's the best Zero, I guess.

WHY COULDN'T YOU HAVE A P-38????

Col.

I thought I was being original, I didn't include the Corsair or the Mustang!!
Here I was thinking I was thinking outside of the box & then you go & rain on my parade

Actually for me, I was thinking of something different. I'm into WWII Naval Aviation & haven't ever really looked at USAAF or ETO very much. Ok, I will admit checking out a Mustang or two at Chino, but what the hell, it was a weak moment.

Does Poland or Romania have anything interesting?
