This has certainly been a nice thread to revisit several times. Easily one of the best, if not the best, thread created on this site that specifically pays tribute to a veteran. The veterans mean just as much as the airplanes (at least to this member)
Chris and Zack have been doing this kind of work for a very long time and the majority of their outstanding efforts go unnoticed by Joe Q. Public, but never unappreciated by those who really matter and that's the veterans, family and friends. This achievement is just a small example of the amazing amount of time, effort and sacrifice these two men have put into these projects. Just one of many with a big "mission complete" at the end.
You think the people who restore old airplanes, spend all that money and time to get them flying again and display them at air shows for the veterans and the rest of us to enjoy are special? You bet they are, but never forget that people such and Chris and Zack and the incredible efforts they make to honor the last remaining veterans we have are no less special and command recognition and a great amount of gratitude from all of us.
I for one am very happy to see that happening here for them. They certainly earned it. A proud and special thread. One of the very best to come along in a long time.
