CAF National Air Base Aircraft

Wed Jun 17, 2015 3:02 pm

Forgive me if I've missed the post and am repeating a question that's already been asked, but is there a list of which aircraft the CAF is relocating to the National Air Base in Dallas? So far, I've seen the Red Tail squadron P-51C and a T-34A in the news (Warbirdsnews.com).

'Lil is hopefully relocating Saturday according to Crew Chief Rick Garvis to begin her 12 month maintenance and restoration project. I've still not seen a full list of what they're going to do, but I'm hopeful that a few more of Gary's "Wish List" will be able to be accomplished during the next year.

Thanks for the replies. I checked the CAF website for unassigned aircraft and there is one in the DFW area(Addison)under restoration. Maybe it will go there too...who knows... Actually looking forward to this new location as it's just spitting distance from me. :) BTW I don't think they(CAF) have all of their aircraft listed on their website.....

If your referring to the P-47N I believe that is slated to go to the National Base, after it's restored in the markings of a 201st FS "Aztec Eagles" aircraft to represent the local mexican population and create a sort of traveling exhibit like the Red Tail Mustang.

The company I'm working for has an aircraft based at RBD, so I'll be keeping a close eye for arrivals!

That would be an awesome pair( Red Tail Mustang and that P-47).....Wonder if they would have any static aircraft too? I remember back when I visited their base as a kid when they were down in Harlingen they had some a few non flyers...I think there was a B-47 on the ramp then...of course that was years ago. :D
