The UC-78 looks attractive but what would engines and propellers cost that you would go flying with, $125,000 maybe $150,000?

they use the JACOBs 755. You can find decent cores for a few grand. An overhaul would be in the 15,000-20,000 range. There are alot of prop choices. Some of the had fixed pitch props. But you would want to put the HAMILTON STANDARD 2B20 same as a 190/195. A friend of mine bought a full lengh, overhauled one for 5,000 last year.
The biggest cost will be making all the wood in this thing airworthy. All that and the fabric covering will cost a fortune.

most of the wood is good. The rear spar needs an inlay .

If you are good with wood, you can do this. If you are not, you are looking at $15,000 to $20,000 of work. The engines are the least of your problems...
