The Barksdale Liberator is a B-24J. The M is in California. Either way, your criticism of the paint job is still valid.

Thanks for the correction..the lineage of turret-nose B-24s is a bit murky. I knew she was a Willow Run bird, but was unsure of the exact variant. One thing she most emphatically is NOT, is a glass-nose D-model, which would be appropriate for a desert scheme (I'm assuming the final markings will be a Ploesti Raider..because that was the only mission ever flown by B-24s, right?)

Good thing they gave it an early war 15th Air Force paint job at an 8th Air Force base. Epic FAIL. I know the paint will help protect it, but how can you paint a NMF aircraft?
