Hi all,

I was wondering, in light of the P-38 "Putt Putt Maru" being sold, what ever happened to a P-38 that was named "Der Gebleschwanz Teufel"...forgive my spelling but that is the German wording which was on it I believe. Roughly translated, I was told it meant "Fork Tailed Devil". I remember that one being the first Lightning I ever saw fly at Oshkosh many years ago.

What with the amount of restorations of all the WW II aircraft going on, including the Lightnings we have heard of, I was curious as to what ever happened to this one.

Any answers out there ??

It is the same airplane. Lone Star's benefactor bought it from Bill Ross back in 86 or 87
