It looks great. It has the very late Galland style canopy and also the end of war extended vertical fin. Surprised no one has ever adapted that to their Buchon. The propellor blades seem a little short and the landing gear struts seem a little short, also. The green band on the fuselage may be the "Defense of the Reich" markings. A friend of mine bought a fibreglass replica P-51D for $40K. By the time he had it shipped, assembled, painted, and hung from the hangar ceiling, he had over $100 in it.

It looks a little better than the one built for use as a movie prop that I saw in a museum in Topeka, KS. This one has better looking gear and canopy.

Does that battery in the cockpit just work the lights, or does it spin the prop too?

Well... it's not the *worst* 109 I've ever seen, but it definitely needs a bit of work to make it more accurate. I'll just leave it at that. :)

Lynn (who knows a thing or two about 109s)

Oooooo! That would be a cool hands on display plane for Wendover! Alas it is in Europe and shipping would be a bit prohibitive. And then there is all the repainting and so on and so on
