Quest for Info - status of Goose N87U?

Sat May 14, 2016 10:26 am

Grumman JRF-5 c/n B-126 (former USN Bu. no. 87732) last registered as N87U, supposedly a "1942 G-21A" although it was really built in 1945...

Also last registered to Blue Goose Enterprises Inc. of Las Vegas but I suspect that deal is similar to that for corporations registered in the state of Delaware for tax purposes. The real owner as far as I can tell is a lawyer in Ft. Worth, TX named E. Glen Johnson. It apparently used to be based in Roanoke, TX but after its FAA registration expired in August 2014, it was shown on Flightaware.com being flown in Nov. 2014 from Dallas Executive Airport down to Stephenville Clark Regional Airport (KSEP) in Stephenville, TX.

So, I'm curious why it would have gone to Stephenville - anybody know what might be there that would be of interest to a Goose owner? Also, I haven't heard of any major issues with it (crash, mechanical or structural issues) so I'm just looking for some information regarding its current status. Figuring that that there are more WIX'ers in TX keeping an eye on things like this than there is anybody on any of the seaplane forums that I also frequent...

TIA
