Does anyone have any details about the operations of Jim Morton's company Aero Enterprises of Elkhart, Indiana? It was an outfit dealing with surplus P-51s and spare parts in the late 50s and early 60s.

I'm curious as to when the business started and approximately what date the company closed down.

The company actually flew out of a grass field in between Elkhart and Goshen, IN. From what my Dad has said in the past is that the strip was about 2500' long with power lines at one end and they had several P-51's, which my Dad flew one of them back from Canada for Allison and Morton, at least one B-25 and a B-17 at the field. At least two of the 51's they brought back from Canada are still around, one is J. Yeagan's "Double Trouble 2" and the other is in a museum in England with Donald Duck on the fuselage. Please e-mail me (coldaffyduck@cox.net) with any questions you have and I will ask my Father about it.
