I have finally located a reference that links the Jaeger B-2 Inclinometer to an aircraft: the B-24, J thru L models. The reference is the "RAAF 346 Types and Locations of Instruments in RAAF, dated 1945" (inclinometer on page 97), which is a cross reference of instruments and aircraft of the era with particular focus on RAAF/RAF/USAAF aircraft used by the RAAF. As I've posted in the forum previously, the document can be downloaded at
http://aeroantique.com/pages/downloads. The document does not indicate that this instrument was used in any other aircraft in its listing. Interestingly, the B-17 does not appear in the listing, but after checking it appears that the B-17 was not operated by the RAAF...
I've yet to locate any B-24 J, K, or L documents that depict the inclinometer installed (i.e., flight manuals). I would imagine that a parts catalog or an erection and maintenance manual for the J, K, or L might list it. If anyone could help here, it would be greatly appreciated.
So the mystery is 'almost' solved.... it would be solved more conclusively if we could find a B-24 document referencing it.
