If the P-51 isn't the most popular warbird it's got to be in the top two or three. Looking thru the P-51 Registry I find that it needs a lot of updating. As popular as the Mustang is you would think that more effort would be made to keep it up. As one example Toulouse Nuts has been flying since last July and it isn't even listed. Don't mean to start anything, just giving my opinion.

You do realize this is a free site and the Warbird Registry is a pet project of this site's owner, Scott Rose, do you not? While I'm sure Scott would love nothing more than to be able to devote all of his time to what is essentially a hobby for him I would be pretty surprised if fiscal realities did not demand otherwise. Maybe you could assist by going through the entire P-51 registry and providing Scott with a list of all of the information he would need to bring the registry up to date. That would probably make his job a bit easier and he might appreciate the assistance. Couldn't hurt to ask anyway.

Best current info for P-51s is here:

http://mustangsmustangs.com/p-51/surviv ... _survivors

Given that there's already a dedicated site to P-51 survivors updated regularly, I would think that the Registry is probably less of a priority.

Scott can correct me but I believe the plan is to update the registry to a community based editable program where we can help fill in / update the details.

The only real lacking information on the fantastic MustangsMustangs site, is that there hasn't been a page/listing of Chuck Greenhill's restored/flying P-51D "Geraldine" for some years now (but there used to be).

It's too bad there is not someone on here who knows everything about Mustangs that could take on the task of updating the registry. I am a big fan of the www.mustangsmustangs.com site! Lots of great inf0/history and photos there!

Yes it was up but was pulled because of a legal issue. It will reappear when the issue is resolved. The issue is not from the current owner.

I like to update warbird whereabouts on Wikipedia so would be happy to help should the WRG develop into a similar model. There's a lot to keep up with!

Our friend Nathan Decker at the Forgotten Jets site has branched into the histories of all the D through K Mustangs as well, since many were used in the Cold war era; info is welcomed:
