Given it's location, one can assume this aircraft was operated by the Red Air Force at the time of loss.

Looking at the tail it's a late K, an M or an early N maybe?

Unless it's an L?

What a great recovery. As I understand it especially below ~150-200 meters or so the Sea has very low oxygen levels ensuring long preservation. While pushing salvage limits it does make you wonder what other great finds lie below.

Great recovery, and whilst the fuselage broke not to hard to repair for these times given the right jigs (which exist) and the money (and a pretty normal break for the P-40 airframe).

Even better is it will be an easy id to do, even if the plates from the cockpit are missing as the rear scallop perspex is still in place, which should have kept the little plates for the airframe located in these areas safe.

P-40 databases are opened and awaiting the small info on that plate
