Some of you may recall that, some time ago, I posted a regular thread on landmarks in the history of military aircraft. After a while I stopped posting, ostensibly because, I began putting together a website.
This website was in the making for some time. As more and more people began expressing an interest in my work as a historian, I thought it might help to simply begin posting some of the work online for all to see. So, as my first public announcement of its existence, I want to share it with all of you here on the Exchange. (I was going to announce its existence on Hyperscale as well, but I have long lost my account information there.)
http://www.gblume.comOf primary interest to all of you will be the Timeline of Strategic Aviation. What began as a way for me to organize my thoughts for a potential book has become a monster of its own. I make additions to it 2-3 times a week, and it is chock-full of information I’m sure would be interesting to those of you fascinated with the history of heavy bombardment. It is posted under Articles, and due to its ever-growing size, is broken down by era.
My PhD work was in US, military, and cultural history, so my articles tend to follow those paths. In addition to military history, I have written several articles on the music and film industry, as well as occasional movie reviews, with special attention to films on historical events. This includes a review on
Dunkirk posted just last week. I also post drawings made by my wife and myself whenever time permits us to do so.
In the future I hope to post podcasts, lectures, and videos, but for now, writing and research is where everything is at.
Hope you guys like it and I look forward to any comments, requests, or questions anyone may have.
Cheers!
