WHISTLING SH*THOUSE, when I saw that nickname on one of the websites
last night, I knew the "jig was up"..now if it had the nick Roaring Sh*thouse we'd be having a chat...

B-W, is this the bird you saw?...

You and Chad are probably correct as to the sound of the Huskie. I am
remembering with the ears of a 10yr old kid...30 years later! A difference
may be, I was viewing an Air Force firefighting crew showing their talents
in operation with the Huskie at a few airshows or open-house days
back then. I was fairly close and at various times that "honking" stovepipe
was pointed at me..probably where I got the perception. I saw quite a few
Huey's back then and more recently...which also used the T-53 Lycoming,
but I never considered them to be particularly loud, other than the WHOP-WHOP.
I didn't know till last night that the '43 had a T-53...I always assumed it
was something "bigger". Ahhh the WIX...

VIDEO
This was the hard part of the search..a 2 minute video I finally found an
hour ago. There was reference of it to another site last night but it was a
dead link. I haven't viewed it, because I'm getting a "illegal operation--you
will be shut down" warning. Anywho..I hope it has sound. H43 Firefighter...
