Hello,

Does anybody have any information about an Italian warbird called Reggiane Re.2005 ?

Probably the last survived one was seen the last time in Cleveland in November 1946, but I haven't got any information. Could you help me ?

Also information about american pilots encounters with this kind of aircraft during WWII would be helpful.

The aircraft was a single seat fighter and single engined (Daimler Benz DB605), with semi-elliptical wing.

Thanks and regards,

Paolo

The only information I have is that it was shown at the "Cleveland National Aircraft show" from 15th to 24th 1946.

How can I eventually get information regarding captured axis aircrafts ? Is there an archive somewhere ?

If it was captured it might have had a "Foreign Evaluation" number (FE or T2).

Were the captured aircrafts only tested at Freeman field ?

is there a complete archive of all the FE's and T2's ? (what's the difference between them ?)

Tanze..did you check my link above? FE ( Foreign Evaluation) was later changed to T2 ( Technical Intelligence Unit ), numbers themselves didn't change.
Some were also tested at NAS Patuxent River.
The best book on the subject is 'War Prizes' by Phil Butler.
