Was it designed by a railroad locomotive company? Looks like it's got a cowcatcher.
The funny thing is, its successor was the PZL P.37 Los, one of the sleekest and most advanced twin-engine bombers of the time.

Somewhere, I have a couple of books, one IIRC titled "World's Ugliest Aircraft" and the other, I can't even remember the title.
Anyhow, I did a web search, and came up (my choices) with some of the ugliest airplanes I could find. French and British seem to have a knack for ugly designs...

Some <<light>> modifications can always enhance things a bit.....Love the Canadian versions of stuff??? Bristol Freighter anyone?
