How long was the side cargo door included? I've not noticed them before.

Forward cargo door lasted until early FY 62, early E model. Doors were sealed after multiple incidents/accident.

Get rid of the radome, and take it back to the "Roman nose" to improve her looks. :D

No "back to" a "Roman nose" for that one! But they do look great, and fast. Be neat to put an early nose on a B model, fastest Herc around!

Could paint it similar to the way NC-130A, 55-0022 (Lone Wolf) was painted, I always loved her paint scheme. Looked so bright compared to our MC-130E's.

We'd have to agree on a name for her also.

Our airborne command post could use a RAF scheme with the "WIX" three letter squadron code. Close to this Mosquito of No. 69 squadron:

FWIW....

http://www.c-130.net/aircraft-database/ ... file/6486/

"21 Nov 2018 [sto] N131EC C-130A No longer economically recoverable. Likely to be broken up for parts."

As an aside, this is interesting....

"Aug 2004 [act] N131EC C-130A - Being used for testing the fitting of two 500 gallon wing tip tanks to replace the type mounted on pylons under the wing. Purpose is to increase performance through reduction drag and stall speed. These new built in tanks are designed and manufactured by Snow Aviation International Inc. of Columbus, Ohio. The new tip tanks are smaller than the normal pylon tanks and produce less drag. The wing tip tanks are patented by Snow Aviation and available as a retrofit to C-130E and C-130H models. After a period of test flying, the wings were removed from N131EC to incorporate spar modificationss and to complete the plumbing to the tip tanks. This aircraft is considered the only A model still flying with three bladed props."
