Japanese Val identification

following pictures popped up on combinedfleet.com, want to know which wing tip the picture is showing.
it is not clear whether the pictures were taken at the crash site or not, there is at least a chance they were not.

this was one of the planes shot down during Operation C, the Japanese Indian Ocean operation in April 1942.
they lost 6 Vals and a Zeke, this is one of the Vals, explicitly a D3A1
