P-40 ride - 20 minutes to scramble

At 11:00 a.m. today my phone rang at work. A buddy of mine was calling to tell me that if I could be at Van Nuys Airport in 20 minutes I could snag a back seat ride down to Camarillo in the POF P-40. I was there in 19 minutes and we flew in tight formation with the SBD. The tragic part..... my brand new Nikon D-50 was sitting at home.

I was at the Van Nuys show Sunday. A nice variety of aircraft. Would give anything to ride in the SBD!
