I live by the Hammondsport C-46. It was owned by the Smithsonian. It ended up in Elmira ny. I saw and talked to Owen Hughes painting an insignia on it at the 1999 wings of eagles airshow. -He painted the nose art on B-29 DOC. The museum closed for awhile and the C-46 ended up at the Glenn Curtiss museum. I'm kinda sad about its current location-in the middle of a small swamp.
