No hair splitting necessary…. It’s not a “war veteran” if there’s zero war that any of it’s parts ‘veteraned’ in. Yes, I made that word up. Pretty simple really.
As for what it represents? Yep!! All for it. Never a question or concern there. Just be honest about its provenance is all I would like best. Truthful historical representation of each individual warbird flying or on display. History deserves at least that much. And yes, it really does matter that each individual warbird be truthfully represented as what it is. If not a single rivet saw combat, then it’s not a combat veteran… period!!. Again, not hard to comprehend unless you believe in fantasizing history to fit your agenda.
And lastly, most of my rambling is “generally speaking” and really not trying to direct at any individual warbird or owner. Although it’s hard not to, but again, if people and owners want to state their own property has a specific historical significance? That’s up to them. There’s STILL lots of people who aren’t stupid!.
