I just wanted to take a second to thank the entire WIXer group for all of the postings which give me really good reading material while I lay here with a broken femur and several broken bones in my foot. (and thank goodness for wireless internet too!)

Let me just say, when you are not able to do anything but lay around like this, there are no dumb postings! (except maybe this one).

I heard a few radial engines fly over my house last weekend from the Maps show, so that helped too. I am just hoping I can get to Oshkosh and maybe motor around on an electric cart or something.

Keep the good/entertaining info coming!

Using an electric "cart" to get around Oshkosh requires planning ahead, so get started on that project now. It does require adavance reservations to rent a cart on the grounds and you need a letter from a doctor, etc.

Information at: http://www.airventure.org/2006/planning ... 20SERVICES

This is the only way my Dad was able to get around OSH in his later years. We also had his handicapped hang-tag for our car which allowed us to park in the Handicapped lot, mere steps from Adavnced Mobilities tent where we picked up and returned his cart each night.

So, if you really want to go to OSH, don't let a "little thing" like broken bones stop you.
:D

Just a question about Mobility Carts at Oshkosh: can you bring your own cart or do you have to use theirs and rent from them? I don't need one (and hope to never have to use one!) but I am interested if it's so people can come and not have to bring there own cart.

Answer: Yes, but...

Thanks all.....certainly appreciate the thoughts

You know, going through a tough injury (not the 1st one for me) sure makes me appreciate and honor those that went through something much more difficult under much worse circumstances - men and women injured while on the battlefield.

Laying in misery on the racetrack only lasted 20 minutes until I was in a helicopter and loaded on meds. Now think about a soldier in misery after being shot, blown apart, only to find themselves with no option to have help on the way.

Take an extra minute today to honor those who served and suffered for our good.
