Do you know what year these photos were taken? Somewhere I have photos I took circa 1968. Maybe I can find them. If I only knew then what I know now!

The P-40 is Kittyhawk I AL152 and was one of the Hawks used in 'Tora! Tora! Tora!'.

Groovy photos... may I use the P-40 shot on my website Jack?

If that's Lone Star's Dauntless, after the collection was sold, it went to the Admiral Nimitz Museum in Fredricksburg. TX. It was hung from the rafters where it sat for many years. Lone Star bought it and the money for the sale was supposed to be used to refurbish PT-305. I think the boat saw a verrry small percentage of that money. Most of the restoration was ultimately done by volunteers soliciting donations.

The Corsair was ferried out of there by November 1967, so I figure the photo must have been around mid-1967 judging from the state of it's refurbishment. I love the scheme with the old lettering showing through. 8)

As always, most excellent photos Jack. Thank you! :D
