Don't know about Vietnam but he was commander of 405th FBG in wwII

the 405 and 406 FG both flew Jugs the entire war but I think they converted to 51's after the war. My father's WR-B 44-72953 Jane VII went to 405th after he went home September 7th, 1945 from 355th FG
The 405th was a pretty good outfit -as were a lot of the 9AF guys under Quesada. Quesada tried to talk my father into extending aftter the 355th FG was transferred from 8th to 9th AF when he commanded the 355th but he wanted to come home (I was born on September 3rd). Probably delayed his BG by a couple of years.
No knock on the 47.. but the 51 was more important.
