Here's a few scans from Oshkosh 82 I think when I was in my teens and loving Warbirds

Boy do I miss that airplane. Ross Grady was a regular at the Minnesota Wings shows at Holman Field in the early 90s. I've seen it a few times since at Oshkosh, but its just not the same in silver with the short tail.

Dan--

That Cavalier is fondly remembered by attendees of the old Mt.Hope shows too...I've got a few nice pix of C-GMUS parked on the line in her FAB finery. Also have a few shots (slides, actually) of her sistership C-GXUQ parked one afternoon at CWH, on her way to Rick Korff and a new ID as "Six-Shooter"...happy times.

Love the picture of Jack Sandberg's P63 Tipsy Miss. I grew up near Crystal airport where he had his hanger and heard and saw her flying over my house all the time. My parents would wonder why I was running for the door all the time.

She was the first warbird I ever saw up close and it was love at first sight.

Some of those are from 1982 (that was the only year Lefty's P-38 was there, I think); others would have to be from 1978 (P-40, P-51H) or other years. I believe 1980 was the last year that that P-63 (at the time named "What Price Speed") appeared. Anyway, nice memories!
