I'm looking for some clear, detailed photos of B-17G radio rooms showing the radio installations, oxygen systems, machine gun installation, and so forth. I'd like to see pics of today's static aircraft and flyers, as well as original wartime pics. Aluminum Overcast is coming to town this weekend, so I'll shoot my own pics there. I'm a crewman on Chuckie, so I know what our radio room looks like (basically naked!). Anything else is on my "want list".
Here's some of Yankee Lady. The lighting on a couple may be a bit off since I took them in the morning! These are all fairly up close, I'm sure chico has some overall shots.
Sadly the only radio room photos I can find are obscured. In this case, some filthy long haired hippy was sitting in this shot my father took.....probably one of those IT types that wouldn't know what it means to do a hard day's work for a fine organization dedicated to preserving our nations flying heritage.
On the plus side, it does show the location of one of the oxygen bottles. If I get a chance I'll post snap some better ones for you guys.
I've been swapping emails with Tom N5ACA on this subject. He's supposed to be sending me a list of your group's available stuff. Right now I'm concentrating on the liason radio setup, but at some point I'm going to turn my attention to the command set installation. I have a lead on a Mickey radar set also that I need to follow up on (I haven't forgotten about you, Jay!). If you have a list of available radio compartment stuff, please send it to me.
Man, I'm sure looking forward to seeing TR back in the air!
