Ex-Burmese. Imported into the US a few years back.
The 3-digit numbers are the Burmese AF serials, (UB-4xx). I'm sure those more knowledgable than I can provide the UK serial tie-ups (PeterA?)

..but why would the three Mk IX's suddenly gain US Registration 'N' numbers now when they were all exported some years ago to the UK and New Zealand?
We know that when the Burmese tidied up and repainted all their Spitfires and Seafires in the Mid 1990's UB424 and UB425 did an identity swap in error. So which N number goes with which 424/425
The thot plickens.

I had heard that the guys with the FAS P-51 Mustang 'Archie' located in Vichy (Rolla), Missouri also had a Spitfire somewhere, but I could never turn anything up on this. There is a P-51D 'Kansas City Kitty" based at Jeff City, but I have not seen it for a few years.
Now I am very interested. I'll see what I can turn up.
