New Zealand

Well...we are into day two of our New Zealand trek. Yesterday we spent the morning at Ardmore Airfield. The guys at Avspecs really treated us to a great tour thanks to Warbirds of New Zealand. The Tomahawk is progressing nicely as well as Jerry Yagens Mosquito. We also got a look at an obscure FG-1D restoration project that is seldom seen. I will be posting pictures soon. This is certainly P-40 Central.

Jim, tell Paul McSweeney and Garth Hogan at Pioneer Aero that the little fat guy who works on the B-29 & B-24 said howdy!

Sorry Gary...only there one day, otherwise I would. We have visited some pretty amazing collections so far. There is a Hawk 75 project and a P-40 (with a really cool history) that are about to be underway...which I can't talk about...nor take photos. Omaka is fast becoming WWI central. There were no less than 6 Fokker DR1 airframes... and several of Peter Jacksons aircraft are going to be based there as part of the Aviation Heritage Center. What a beautiful country. Wish I had known you were coming to Blenheim, could have shown you around Omaka in more detail, museum is coming along great, due to open 9 Dec.

Jim, I'm glad you're enjoying New Zealand.

Did you take a look at Motat while in Auckland? And I hope you'll get a chance to visit Wigram and Wanaka.
