Derelict B-25s in Ascuncion

Wed Nov 29, 2006 2:15 pm

Have just had a look through Google Earth and not found anything. Does anyone know when they were scrapped?

If you refer to Asuncion, Paraguay, they did not operate B-25s as far as I could determine.

Uruguay on the other hand, operated them, as well as the F-51s, T-6s, PT-19s, F-6Fs...

There is one preserved B-25 (nicknamed "Charrua") at the Uruguayan AF Museum in Carrasco.

These were not military B-25s, but several civilian Mitchells which ended up derelict at the (then) Presidente Stroesser Airport. They were:
44-30772 N9076Z
44-30976 N8193H
44-86749 N8194H

Guess I ought to post a query on LAAHS as well?

Oh!!!!

I was looking for military B-25s!

Must admit that civilian B-25s never crossed my mind . . .

Your best chance for information should be Tony Sapienza, and I am PM'ing you his e-mail address.
