Like I mentioned before, the black bottom on FIFI is only a suggestion and quite frankly, a slight possibility. I'm not even going to start that argument yet. I'm gonna wait for that battle until after we get it closer to flying again.

But I like the black too. ;-)

Great pictures, really looking forward to see her in the air again. I was lucky enough to fly in her for a Discovery Channel series we were making and its something I'm never going to forget.

Keep up the good work.

Where did the top, four gun turret come from? The first few years the CAF flew the B-29, it was slick...

Great photo Trae, but that picture would've been taken during Airsho '05. I had just finished repainting "FIFI" in blue (only a few days earlier), like it originally had been done when the CAF got it out of the desert many moons ago. You can also see all of the clecos on the top of the fuselage from when we replaced everything above the wing center section. You can also see that we don't have the leading edge on the left wing......that's because the left wing wasn't on at that time either. :?

You must've been there pretty early on Sunday morning or something, not to have a bunch of people in front of it.

Could she be Fifi on one side and something else on the other side?

I prefer the WWII liverys over the post war.

But like I said before, I just want to see her fly again. It's been about 17 years I think since I last saw her fly.

I hope no one minds if I chime in on this thread. These were taken during the Dynamic Duo's most recent (and hopefully not last) visit to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo in July of '04. Unfortunately, I missed Fifi's departure..she was delayed a few days by weather.

Cheers!

Steve
