Within the last several weeks there has been people forwarding an e-mail entitled, "Undeveloped Pearl Harbor photo's found in brown camera". Or simular titles. Today I recieved five e-mails of this. The photo's that came in the e-mail have been seen many times before. Many of those pictures were developed just after the attack and some were taken by Japanese aircrew's. Not from a single U.S. sailor. Someone has undeniably been trying to scam people with these photo's that they call, "Have just been found in an undeveloped roll of film". When all of those pictures have been in the national archives since the early 1940's!

I just wanted to stop by and give you all a note about it. Who ever started this "scam" is stupid and I have no idea why someone would want to make up such a thing?

This tinkering with history will not be tolerated!:gib:

I got those from a retired AF General about a year ago.
Hokey story but nice shots :?
I'm not sure I would proclaim it has a scam since nobody, has far
has I know, is to separate you from your money (or anything else of value).

I got these from a couple of different people beleiving the brownie story. Come on people, who hasen't seen the picture of the sailor by the burning PBY looking at the explosions? The obvious give away to anyone that knows nothing about Pearl Harbor----how in the he1l did the guy get into the enemy aircraft and take pictures from above? No wonder the pictures were hidden for sixty years. Neat pictures anyway but the vast majority have been published many times.

My thoughts exactly! I think this picture was in my high school American History book, and I know I've seen it several times in other books and in magazines...

But then again people do respond to emails from someone in Liberia promising great reward for a little cash today.... 8)

This is a often published image of the destroyer USS Shaw exploding in its dry dock with (if you noticed) the battleship USS Nevada making its way under power, just to the right of the photo.
I've seen all those pics before and have sent correcting e-mails to everyone who sent me them. (There were many!)

i received the new / old bogus pics too, forwarded by friends 2 times over the past weeks. seen them umpteen times. what a crappy scam. any true historian will recognize they've been public, millions of times since the end of the war.

Correct! It is a US photo of the carnage days later after the fires were out.
