The first is a Thomas Morse Scout on floats. The others I'll get back to you on.

Ahhh who knows on any of these. Back in those days if they changed a couple of rivets they gave it a new designation. I think number 4 is a Naval Aircraft Factory TS-1

This guess is a real shot in the dark but it is the best one that I have right now. Tr-1 flown by Lieutenant Gorton to win the Curtiss Marine Trophy Race held in Detroit October 1922.

Bonus question #2 Sea Sled a motor boat that could reach a speed of 50 knots. A landplane would be towed on the sea sled to a point within range of its target and then launched. One wonders where the plane would land?

That's okay, they would have used aircrew from Maine, then it's not a problem where they land, if at all !!!!

Is #3 still unguessed? What I suppose I'm the only one who has nothing better to do on a Saturday night. Anyone know why I can no longer see the pictures? They were there earlier today. Good thing I printed them out.

I thought this looked more like a Wright than a Curtiss. Is that Herbster, Rodgers, and Wiegand standing in front of a Wright B-1?

Well according to my research pieces it's probably Cal Rodgers with a Wright Model B witch he redesignated "EX".

I really didn't mean that remark about Maine airmen !!

It's just that the whole world knows that the best pilots come from NZ....
