When you look at as many sites as I have, you only tend to mention the ones that have got something new and exciting.

Is that Japanese guy actually BUILDING his own A6M2?

The work on the panels , instrument panel and gear looks first-rate.

tony, we have the same champagne taste. while all is still cool with the run of the mill usual, i'm bored stiff with the run of the mill stuff such as b-17, me-109, p-51, zero, etc & the other moldy oldies constantly mentioned. yes, they always raise an eyebrow, but i look for unique & new stories & facts on everybodies favorites, but i am into the more obscure types both allied & axis ww 2. best, tom

Tom I'm allied to you, I get tiired of all of the same old planes and airshows. I want to see someone rebuilding something exotic!!

Tony, same goes for you, I think we have a lot in common w/ respect to finding a buried warbird somewhere, or better yet buried treasure.

Anyway, guys this Japanese ENTHUSIAST looks like he truely is building up a Zero from patterns and using the original castings. Nothing short of amazing. I don't think I'd have the wherewithall to do it. I can see that he is intent on reusing his elevator hinge castings, propeller, and tail gear casting.

His instrument panel has a similar shock mount system as the T-6, and the elevator hinge casting looks very similar. I'd say if he reuses all his castings and prop maybe he could call it 10% original. What a guy.

The Shinden Kai's an interesting exhibit. Made me look twice when I saw the 4 props bent, then realised it's displayed unrestored.

these sites are just incredible!!! the only problem is the japanese chicken scratch. it's like looking at a japanese koku fan book..... chock full of rare unpublished or very detailed pics that i can't read. when i click on an image or japanese title my computer comes up with "do you want to install japanese language pack?? i don't know!! that's why i'm asking you boys!! does the language pack automatically translate to japanese?? is it gonna goof up my computer?? viruses etc?? is it difficult to install?? it's like somebody putting a lobster in front of me & saying look at it all you want but don't eat it!! i really want to explore this site without committing computer hari kiri, or pee'in off the mrs for crashing the computer for my "daac" (dumb a** airplane crap) best, tom

As long as the download is a Microsoft language pack you should be ok. Have your Norton on anyway.

Found another couple of sites, following links off links off links.

One was a rather good travel website with photos for Munda and the Celebes, complete with wreckage etc , most of which I hadn't seen before.

Also a very good Zero site. Full of Kanji of course, but I kept clicking on links to find 2 glorious sites. One that was airfield archaeology in Southern Japan, and another that featured a lot of photos of between the wars Japanese Military aviation, including Pilots, Aircraft and group photos . There was a lot of wartime stuff two. It looked like the website was the official Japanese WW2 Fighter Pilots association or some such.

Had to give it a break today, after I lost all the stuff I was going to post, because of the bloody timeout.
