A quick from the iPhone update

The flying wing just landed. It looks good

The A-36 flew about 90 minutes yesterday. So it looks good (they didn't paint it yet but at Chino you never know)

The FW-190 flew about 5 minutes yesterday. It was running hot so Steve Hinton landed it and it's parked for the show. Don't know if it will be static or not.

P-51 N251BP Buzzin Cuzzin is there.

Lots of planes getting towed out to the ramp.

Bearcat N14WB is covered with oil so something let loose there for a leak.

The Collings Foundation P-51 appears ready to fly after hydo/gear problems last week.

Amazing how much stuff they can accomplish at POF and how fast it can happen

Thanks for the update... when did the FW-190 first fly? Is it Rudy Frasca's?

Any photos?

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks for the updates Mark!

I also saw some photos of the recently re-painted Friedkin-Hellcat at Chino, looking superb in a matte USN tri-color scheme - always nice to know that there will be some fresh-new subjects to be photographed at the show.

Quick update. Appears fw-190 flew some more this morning and may fly during the show. They are working on it now. 7 Mustangs on the line. So far 21 confirmed. Wing is taxiing out right now....

Might have to dig out my TFC flight jacket again, caused some confusion last year early on the Saturday when faffing about with the Tigercat & had people asking me if it had flown over just for the airshow

Rumor has it that 5 of the Mustangs at the show are razorback/straightback/highback/nonbubble birds. (Trying to be PC for those sensitive types. )

Is this an actual 190 or a Flug Werk replica?

I was lucky enough to swing by Chino this evening, and just left, after working in so cal for a few days. Lots of excitement apparent as they get ready for the weekend show. A few Mustangs (incl the "a" model), the Hellcat (which looks superb by the way), and a Yak to the skies while I was there. The A36 was being pushed about along with P-38 (skidoo). As always lots of neat stuff to see there.....and yes I have photos but I can't get them uploaded from my blackberry yet.

For Vlado….. The razorback/straightback/highback/nonbubble Mustangs are ….

Tom Freidkin’s P-51B Princess Elizabeth
Tom Freidkin’s A-36
POF P-51A Miss Virginia
Collings Foundation P-51B/C Betty Jane

Seems like there is one more there….. Been a long day…
