WWII Fighters and Bombers Still Outside?

Following up on the thread about Corsairs still outside, I was thinking about the relative abundance of WWII fighters and bombers from all service branches still on display outside. I didn't know if anyone had put together a list of such aircraft and their owners. I know that one of the main problems, especially with the bombers, is their sheer size. There are only so many museums and available hangars with that kind of floor space. With that said, does anyone want to start in with a list? I excluded transports from my question because as we all know there are so many C-47 and C-54 airframes outside that it would make the list obnoxiously long. Anyone care to start? I can think of several B-17s and B-29s, at least two B-24s, a couple of P-51s, a P-82, P-63, P-38, Hellcat, the aforementioned Corsairs... anyone care to chip in?

For a start, here in OK we have a B-29 at Tinker. s/n 44-27343- NMUSAF control

A couple off the top of my head:

P-38 at McGuire AFB
FG-1D, A-26, S-2, etc. at Selfridge
B-17, B-25, C-1, etc. at Grissom
Lackland AFB: P-47, P-51H, P-63, F-82, B-17, etc.

B-17's at Lackland, Eglin, Barksdale, Dyess, Grissom, Chino (twice), Offut, Castle, Milwaukie,Or, Tulare,Ca, March, and in Brazil

Right off the top of my head, P-51's at Volk Field, Wi and at Barksdale. There has to be others.

B-25's (lots) in Milwaukee, Maxwell, Castle, March, Yanks?, San Diego, Hurlbert, NMNA (may be inside now), Eglin, Grissom, Malmstrom, Grand Forks, Pendleton Air Museum, Milville,NJ?, Columbia, SC, Ellsworth, Pampa,TX?, Lackland, Goodfellow, and many in other countries.

Besides the P-47 mentioned at Lackland there are a couple/three P-47's sitting outside in South America

B 25 rotting away at Franklin, Va airport ( FKN ) along with a PT 26 that is dying as well.

There's also a Hellcat on the East Coast somewhere... for some reason Andrews rings a bell, but I'm not sure.

There's also a Skyraider and maybe a couple others at Oceana.

Andrews is correct. The Hellcat is there being used as a wind vane :shock:

. This plane REALLY needs to come inside! It would be nice if they could move it to the museum in the Washington Navy Yard.

That Hellcat's gotta be a replica. Geneseo has one too, used as a wind vane.
