No it is one of the two NZ reproductions with original engines.

Va bene !

They were made in NZ rather than Australia.

Sorry, the sources I have are what they are.

Would you please tell me other details.

Ciao,Francesco.

There was a post on Kermit's blog a few months ago about his visit to NZ (then on to Australia) that gives more details. TVAL refurbished Kermit's engine, and built the reproduction.

Not sure what you mean by Colt M2....so the answer is probably 'No'

Not sure what you mean by Colt M2

I think he's referring to your DaveM2 handle, Suh? IIRC, DaveM #2 being your handle reason, and not a gun.

Brilliant. I got to see Rhinebeck's when it was still flying and there is not a prettier plane from that era. Here's hoping he airs it out often for the visitors down there.

It was fascinating to see this flown by Kermit alongside and 'against' the TVAL Sopwith Camel at last year's Classic Fighters airshow at Omaka, NZ. Both top of their game in the era as Scouts, yet utterly different in structure and power. Flown by two rather good pilots of the types, too. ;)

It's clear from Kermit's and other accounts that while the Albatros is one of the most 'shark-like' and aggressive looking fighters in history, it's actually a bit of a flawed dog...

And btw, the company and aircraft of this type are 'Albatros', one 's'.

Regards,
