Although I'm not from the area, I'm planning on traveling (six hour drive) down to see this show for the first time. I'm curious as to the arrangement, if any, for photographers. Couldn't find any info on whether a photo pit or photo pass for early AM ramp access is in the offing. Also would like to know what the lighting is like from the viewing areas.
Judging by past show pics on their site, it looks to generally have a good mix of modern and classic warbird aircraft. Those that like the Jets will get their fill this year. Blue Angels, Snowbirds, F-22 Raptor Demo, CF-18 Demo are already announced.
From my past experiences with Westover it's very clear as far as you can see. No hangers in the way either. The background is valleys so it makes for great photos. It's runways are huge. The tower does sit down to the left so if their taking off left to right, you'll get the tower in the way a little. I myself will go down a day prior to see some arrivals of the statics. I have found several aircraft practicing or the statics doing a fly over prior to landing in the past. I can't stress enough to get their early. And I mean early! A few years ago there was so much traffic that a few people I know actual had to watch the show from their cars stuck on the highway.
When you get there you'll be directed to one of several grass fields where you'll park. In the past they did have a shuttle bus services as you may be parked extremely far away. As far as a pit for photography, they may be linked in with the news crews. There are so many people who attend this that I never really looked for it. I hope this helps a little!
