I'm registered over there but get the "... you do not have permission to access this page" message on that one. Are there different levels of membership on the Key Forums?

It's not actually the forums, it's the software used to create the forum.
Yes, there are controls the admin can use to make a non-public area of the forum. Thats probably where that post went.( it's better than deleting it ) the post is out of the public view, but still saved on the site for later review by the admin.

(by the way, the post in question was disgusting and vile )

I'm also registered with the Flypast site but rarely post anything on there. Some of the threads are just down-right nasty and vicious with people getting into pissing matches all the time. :x

Thank god WIX is sooooo much more professional!!! :D

Just tried to register at flypas to see all the ruckus but received the following error:

The following errors occurred during your registration:

* The administrator has banned your email address. To contact the administrator click here

What the heck is with all the banning. A little theatrical if you ask me, maybe the DENIED.

regards,

t~

Well now that's a great way to treat folks...I make it a point to steer clear of all the ruckus and my access is denied? Hmmmmmmmm, not like I went over there very much anymore, not since Plane Talk was started.

It looks like the original thread or post that's been linked to has been either quarantined or removed because the content was unsuitable. It's not because anyone's had their account suspended or their privileges restricted.

Originalboxcar, if you try to register on Key Pub with a free email account such as hotmail or yahoo you'll be told that your address is banned because they don't allow free webmail accounts. Many forums operate this policy because these accounts have been used by malcontents in the past to post anonymous abuse. There's also a tendency for services such as hotmail to treat automated forum notifications as spam mail, so you're much better off registering with an isp mail account.

Rob

I had the same problem, as I couldn't remember my password from before. I changed it, and probably as mentioned above, the link is no longer available to the public. I was however able to access all the other links in general............

Yes, of course, I didn't think of that. I am myself a moderator on a forum and we have a few areas ("admin" and "abuse posts" among others) that are accessible by staff only.

When was this brought in? I have always been registered with FlyPast, as with other forums, with a hotmail account.

What was the ruckus about anyway Tulio? Had Rob tried to get back in over there after being kicked out of here? :P

Dave, this was brought in a while ago, certainly over 18 months ago. Existing hotmail customers weren't affected.
