This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Here is hoping for late Wednesday as that is the day I plan to attend to see Fifi/Doc/Lanc.

The Lanc didn't arrive yesterday as planned, but FlightAware has her in Wisconsin airspace now, so I'd expect her around noon local time today, weather permitting. So far it is not as bad a day as forecast, but I'm taking advantage of the clouds to catch up on some work and chimp my photos from the past 2 days, and will be back on site tomorrow. Weather is expected to be fine for the rest of the week.

She's landed and parked near Boeing Plaza. Can see on the webcam.

Sadly sounds like an accident. Two fatalities from what's being reported.

Was that the Lancair on Monday? Crashed turning final for 36L.

At some point for a couple of hours on Monday, most of the cameras that show 36 stopped panning. One of the live webcams has a chat room and people were saying the runways were closed, but didn't know why. Someone mentioned the cameras stopping was related to an incident. Haven't seen much else on what occurred.

As a hobby, one of my sons has started a warbird-oriented facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/people/G3NERAL ... 7715/?_rdrHe's gradually posting pics & vids from our walk around the Oshkosh grounds Monday & Tuesday.
One funny: The B-52 arrival video was by accident. We'd just pulled into town, were driving the perimeter road under the approach to 36, and were greeted by a big, smokey BUFF. As always, 'tis far better to be lucky than good.

Helldiver just landed.

only had a couple days to look around...but by far, Dallas Doll was worth the trip. It was great to see Polar Bear...although it's now Polished Bear. Wish I could have stayed longer! Lots of good things are happening there, the Bud Anderson Celebration of Life, The 29's and Lancaster Formation, the Helldiver...and so on.

I must be looking at the wrong times on the webcams. Warbird numbers look down this year? I’m seeing a lot of open space in the Warbird areas.

Yeah! I know, I looked at it. Just seems bare in places where in years past those areas were full with planes. Not a big deal, I'm sure this years attendance is par the usual numbers.

It did feel down but the T-28 and T-34 felt up.

I think the piston turnout was reasonable. Plenty of Mustangs, 5 Corsairs, 2 jugs, 5 B-25s if you count EAA's overhead, a selection of other goodies. Amazing that there is an SBD and SB2C but no Avenger.
Jets were disappointing except for the 4 Mig-17s and 3 T-33s. Nobody brought an A-4, F-5, T-38, Sabre, Vampire, Venom, or anything exotic like that. We have been spoiled for cool jets in the past few years.
